On December 22, the author learned that the high-temperature heat pump system of the third thermal station, a key supporting project for the western transformation and upgrading of Jilin Petrochemical, was successfully put into operation. It supplies qualified heating and hot water for the 600,000-ton/year styrene and other facilities and factory buildings, marking a revolutionary change in the company's winter heating and heat tracing heat sources.
High-temperature heat pumps are devices that transfer heat from low-temperature heat sources to high-temperature heat sources through the circulation of refrigerants driven by electricity. They have the advantages of high efficiency, energy conservation, environmental protection, low carbon emissions, strong adaptability, and high economic efficiency, which are of great significance for the green, low-carbon, and high-quality development of factories.
The third thermal station, as an important supporting project for the company's western transformation and upgrading, started construction in May 2024. Its core equipment is the high-energy heat pump. The high-energy heat pump of the third thermal station uses the circulating water of the ABS unit in the company's western transformation and upgrading as the low-temperature heat source to heat the heat tracing and heating water of the 600,000-ton/year styrene and other units. After heat exchange through the high-energy heat pump of the third thermal station, the temperature of the heat tracing and heating water is raised to 55 to 75 degrees Celsius, meeting the heat tracing and heating requirements of the units.
The third thermal station has a total of 7 high-energy heat pumps, 8 motor pumps, and 3 variable-frequency make-up water pumps. Each heat pump has a designed heating capacity of 10 megawatts and can provide heat tracing and heating sources for 6 units including the 600,000-ton/year styrene unit and the newly built emulsion ABS unit, as well as their affiliated factory buildings. Compared with the traditional steam heat tracing and heating methods, it can save nearly 27 million yuan in steam costs during each heating season.
